The Head of School is responsible for the operations of the school and is under the supervision of the Board of Directors. All of the employees of the school and the various volunteer and support groups report to the Head of School.
Mr. Allen has three years teaching experience and four years of administration experience as an administrator in Illinois public schools. Since moving to California in 1981, Mr. Allen has an additional twenty-three years of experience as an administrator in Christian education. He began his Hillcrest Christian experience in April of 2004.
Mr. Allen earned a Bachelor's degree (history) from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. He earned a Master's degree (administration and supervision) from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. He is currently working on completing a doctoral degree (Ed.D in Educational Leadership) at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California.
Mr. Allen's credentials include an Indiana teaching credential, Illinois teaching and administration credentials, California credentials, and credentials from the Association of Christian Schools, International.
Steve is married to Jan, who also has a bachelor's degree in history at Taylor University. They have two children Ryan and Brianna.

The Preschool Director provides leadership and oversight to the five Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classes and the Preschool/Pre-K/Kindergarten morning and after-school childcare programs. Kindergarten in included in the elementary school. The Preschool Director is a member of the administrative team and reports to the Head of School.
Cathe Jackson, the preschool director earned her teacher’s permit from Oxnard College. She has over fifteen year experience working with children from infants to school age. In 1993, she started her professional career as a preschool teacher in Christian schools. Cathe and her husband Andre reside in the city of Moorpark with their four beautiful children Breanna, Makayla, Andre Jr., and Leandra, all who attend Hillcrest Christian School.

The Principal is responsible for overseeing the academics, discipline, extra and co-curricular activities, and programs involving the students in grades kindergarten through twelve. The principal is a member of the administrative team and reports to the Head of School.
Kathy Horan is the School Principal. She has been a teacher at Hillcrest Christian School for fifteen years, and has served in various administrative positions including curriculum coordination, lead teacher and assistant principal for the past seven years.
Mrs. Horan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Santa Clara.
Kathy is married to Tom who also graduated from the University of Santa Clara. They have three children - Tommy, who graduated from the University of Southern California, and Patrick (HCS class of 2002) a graduate of University of Notre Dame, and Kaitlin (HCS class of 2004) who is a freshman at Texas Christian University.

The Dean of Students is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all K-12 students and overseeing any necessary K-12 student disciplinary action. The College Advisor is responsible for assisting secondary students with understanding college admission requirements and informing them about deadlines related to college entrance exams. In addition, the advisor will help students access and use The Kuder Career Planning system. These two positions are part of the administrative team and report directly to the Principal.
Carolyn Krause is the Dean of Students and College Advisor. She has been a secondary English and history teacher for the past five years at Hillcrest Christian School as well as the junior homeroom advisor. Carolyn has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal Communications from UCLA and a Master of Arts degree from Pepperdine University.
Mrs. Krause has been married for twenty-nine years to Steve who also graduated from UCLA with a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of West Los Angeles. They have three children – Katie, who graduated from Southern Methodist University, Kevin who currently attends Moorpark College, and Kelsey who is a senior in high school.

The business manager oversees the financial department and human resources departments; manages projects that relate to our facility and custodial staff, technology, and our relationship with our vendors
Mr. Don Meyers, the business manager, is the retired CFO of Sterling Holding Company and has a wealth of experience in the area of financial management, as well as human resources, technology, and facilities. He is actively involved at Christian Church of Thousand Oaks and sees his position here as an opportunity to combine his business expertise with his love for youth and ministry. In addition, Don is no stranger to Hillcrest, as three of his four adult children are HCS alumni.

The Board of Directors primarily sets the governing policies for Hillcrest Christian School. The Board of Directors supervises and evaluates the school's chief executive officer, the Head of School. Other duties include defining and periodically reevaluating the school's mission and major goals, strategic plan, and the budget and policy statements. In addition, the Board of Directors ensures that the organization obtains the resources necessary to meet the strategic plan.

Melissa Dundas has been on the Board of Directors since July 2003. She serves as the president. She attends Evangelical Free Church of Conejo Valley, a member since 2000. Melissa enjoys volunteering for any activity related to her children, such as being a Girl Scout leadership, coaching youth soccer, and volunteering for Hillcrest Christian School. Melissa and her husband have three children – one is a graduate of HCS and the other two attend HCS. Melissa and her husband, Bill, own a security, communications and long distance company.
Mark Wiemann has been a board member since September 2005. After attending Azusa Pacific University, he has been a wholesale produce broker since 1980 and started his own brokerage company in 1994. Mark is married to D’Vonne and has two children, Jennifer and Hunter. Mark and his family attend Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village. Mark is an avid golfer and also enjoys bowling, softball, and spending time with his family.
Doug Hume joined our Board of Directors in April 2007. Doug is married with three children and attends Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village with his family. Doug is an attorney with the law firm of Catanese & Wells located in Westlake Village. He has practiced law for ten years focusing his practice on business matters with an emphasis on capital raising, business formation, and civil and estate litigation. Doug received his B.A. in Political Science and Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University in 1993, and earned his Juris Doctor in 1997, from Pepperdine University. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of History and Political Science at Azusa Pacific teaching courses in Constitutional Law and Legal Studies. Doug enjoys spending time with family as well as triathlons and golf.
Rick Stabile is married with two children and is the senior pastor of The Rock Community Church in Thousand Oaks. Rick experienced a profitable management career in the information systems field for twenty years before being called into full time vocational ministry in 2002. He also began serving as a chaplain for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department in 2006. Rick enjoys spending time with his family, studying the Bible, tinkering with new technologies, motorcycle riding, and playing guitar. Rick joined our Board of Directors in March 2007.
Greg Regier joined our Board of Directors in April 2007. Greg is married with two children and attends Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village with his family. Greg is an attorney with the law firm of Jackson, DeMarco, Tidus & Peckenpaugh and is the managing partner of the firm's Westlake Village office. His practice focuses on the processing and defending of land use entitlements, as well as land use and environmental litigation. Greg received his B.A. in Economics from Pepperdine University in 1992, and earned his Juris Doctor in 1997, from Pepperdine University. He enjoys spending time with family and tries to get outside to run, swim, or bike as much as he can.
Kathleen Brooks became a member of the Board of Directors in November of 2007. Kathleen and her husband Dennis had two boys who graduated from HCS High School. As a parent of alumni, Kathleen is no stranger to Hillcrest. She has previously served as PFA President (2004 to 2005), participated on the HCS Student Recruitment Committee, has led a number of Bible Studies for HCS parents, as well as serving in other volunteer and leadership efforts. Kathleen is a home maker with a background in education. She has experience teaching public school junior high and high school students. She also has an Internet-related business. Dennis and Kathleen attend Church in the Canyon in Calabasas. Kathleen graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Home Economics Education.

NEW STUDENTS: Once you have been accepted to Hillcrest, we will need all of your paperwork and fees as soon as possible. Use this CHECKLIST to be certain that you have completed and returned all required documents. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
CURRENT FAMILIES: Contact our office if you need copies of report cards or transcripts.
GRADUATES and TRANSFER: You can use our web form to request transcripts. You can also download the TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM and mail it to us. Please provide all requested information so that your transcript can be sent on time and to the right place..
