HCS Alumni, Damon Brooks Scores At Azusa Pacific
A Hillcrest alumni success story.

Proud mom, Kathleen Brooks reports that her son, HCS 2002 grad Damon Brooks, scored his first goal as a college athlete in a home soccer game Wednesday, October 6th. Damon, a standout athlete at Hillcrest , is a sophomore on the Azusa Pacific team this year .

The Azusa web report describes Damon's goal like this: "Again, the Cougar lead appeared safe, but Ewout Van Rhee collected a rebound off a Morgan Cathey save and fired a one-timer to again make it a one-goal deficit in the 39th minute. Just more than one minute later, though, Brooks got into the act with his first career goal as he rose above several defenders to head in a Dustin McBride cross. " The Cougars defeated The Masters 5-2

Damon played four varsity soccer seasons for head coach Tom Horan at Hillcrest Christian High. He was a 4-time all-league selection, including league MVP as a 2002 senior when he scored 21 goals . Damon who led the Saints to a pair of league titles and a 2001 CIF championship, also played four seasons of basketball and one season of volleyball.

We are so proud of our HCS alumni and are always happy to hear about their college success stories. Congratulations, Damon... and proud parents, Kathleen and Dennis!
