2005 Alumni Kyle Brooks makes APU Deans List again and runs the 2007 LA Marathon!
HCS is always happy to get news of about our graduates.

Kyle Brooks, 2005 graduate of Hillcrest Christian High School, was notified last week that he had again made the Dean's List for Azusa Pacific University. Two days later he joined nearly 25,000 other participants in running the 2007 LA Marathon of 26.2 miles which started near Universal Studios and ended downtown Los Angeles. Kyle pulled his Hillcrest Christian Athletics sweatshirt over his head and joined thousands of other runners warming up the starting line at the 22nd annual City of Los Angeles Marathon on March 4, 2007. There were people from 50 states and 70 nations participating. The LA Marathon began at Universal Studios Hollywood and the Finish Line was in downtown Los Angeles. Kyle trained with a group of APU students who were partnering with Horizon International to help create opportunities and earn monies for AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa to attend higher education and college. He finished in 3 hours 28 minutes, (7.58 minute mile average) 19th in his age bracket, 364th in the men's division, and 409th overall!

Kyle is majoring in Philosophy and Psychology, with a Greek minor. He is headed with the APU Mission Group in May to Guatemala for 3 weeks.
