Keyboarding In Kindergarten Photos
Eager Kindergarten Students learn computer skills

"Everything I ever needed to know I learned in kindergarten" may be true of HCS students. These pictures capture the thrill of learning in the age of technology. Students in Mrs. MacLaury’s class are learning letter recognition and keyboarding skills while, at the same time, having fun.

Computers stimulate young students and encourage them to become independent learners. You can visit web sites of favorite authors or enjoy such interactive animated books as DR. SEUSS’ ABC’s. Programs like WIGGLEWORKS allow them to review and reinforce elementary reading skills, while subject-related software, such as SAMMY’S SCIENCE HOUSE, MATH BLASTER, MILLIE’S MATH HOUSE, or THINKING THINGS, provide opportunities in critical thinking and reinforcement in core content areas.
