Cheer Squad Wins West Coast Championship
Cheerleaders over come obstacles, and win the day.

Shannon Pugh, the Hillcrest Christian School junior high cheerleading coach announced that the school's cheer squad won West Coast Championship for the high school division of the recent Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders Competition. The event, held in Long Beach, was for the Western States, including California, Oregon, Nevada, Washington, and Arizona. Two hours before the competition, event officials informed the squad they would compete in the high school division competition, instead of the junior high school division. The squad concluded by winning the higher-level competition.

The Hillcrest Christian School junior high cheerleading squad members are: Koyaana Redstar (High School), Brittany Badger, Kandiss Kendall, Jenny Philen, Ashley Adelman, Bianca Loshelder, Sadie Knapp, and Hannah Rhodes (Middle School). Brooklyn Thorson Geller is the team's assistant coach.
