FYI: Important Community Alert
The Thousand Oaks Police Department have provided us with this important community alert.

On Saturday, January 26, 2008, the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to a report of an 11-year-old female kidnapped near her residence in the Newbury Park area. The victim was forced into a vehicle by a male suspect and driven away. After struggling with the suspect, the victim was able to free herself and exit the vehicle while still in the neighborhood. The victim ran directly to her house and immediately notified her parents.

Victim Description of Suspect and Vehicle:
White male, 30 – 40 years, light complexion, short blond hair, scar from left eye to mouth
80’s van, gray or silver, two (white/blue or white/green) stripes running horizontally from front to back

Neighbor description of suspect and vehicle:
White male, 5’10”, medium build, curly/wavy shoulder length hair, unkempt
Dark, possibly hunter green, 80’s American made van, conversion, with two horizontal stripes (3-4” wide, separated by 3-4” gap, one stripe could be lighter green) tinted windows on the side, double doors on the rear, no ladder. License plate possibly ending in “214”.

This suspect and vehicle were seen in the area of the gated community throughout last week, prior to the kidnapping.
