By Rebecca Price, HCS Librarian Posted Tuesday, February 1, 2005 KOREAN KONNECTION Our guests are now gone, but catch a glimpse into one of the events they experienced while they were here. On Friday, January 21st, Luann Malcolm, Becca Price, and our 8 Korean guests took a drive up the beautiful Southern California Coast. Our first destination was the little Danish town of Solvang. We spent the morning taking in the sunshine and wandering around in some of the little shops. The students had a great time buying lots of treasures to take back home to Korea with them.
After a couple hours in Solvang, we headed back down to Santa Barbara where we enjoyed lunch on the sand at the Shoreline Cafe.
This sandy setting gave the kids a chance to release some energy by chasing waves and seagulls. Our last stop before heading home, was the Santa Barbara mission where we were able to walk through and get a glimpse of California history. |
