Posted Thursday, August 28, 2008 Congratulations to Dr. Terry Schroeder's Silver Medal Water Polo Team HCS is so proud of the success of one of our own, Dr. Terry Schroeder. Learn more about the Schroeder family's success in Beijing. Hillcrest Christian School would like to congratulate Dr. Terry Schroeder on his team’s Silver Medal and welcome home the Schroeder family from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing! Dr. Schroeder, the Olympic head coach for the USA Water Polo team and a four-time Olympian with two silver medals in the sport, led the team to the final, playing for Gold against Hungary. The Silver medal represents the first medal for the men's team since the 1988 Olympics in Seoul where a Silver was obtained with Terry as captain of the team. We are so proud of this SILVER medal team and all that Dr. Terry and the team achieved! His wife, Dr. Lori and their two beautiful girls, Leanna and Sheridan were there cheering him and the team on in Beijing and have been a huge support over the time of training leading up to the Olympics. This was in so many ways a family achievement and we are so proud of their representation of the United State of America! The Schroeders own North Ranch Chiropractic and Pilates studio in Westlake Village.
As quoted on the official US Water Polo website, Dr. Terry shared, "To see this team grow has been a wonderful experience not just as water polo players but as people. I wanted that gold for them as much as anyone but I think when you put it in perspective it's a great accomplishment. To see them step up there on that podium I know there were some tears in my eyes, kind of like a proud father watching his children. - Terry Schroeder, Head Coach, U.S. Olympic Team for Men's Water Polo."
