High School Basketbal - Senior Parent Night Report
Our high school basketball senior's night was an AWESOME tribute to our three seniors and their families.

The varsity boys basketball team hosted their final home stand of the season Monday, Feb. 4 at First Christian Church of Newbury Park against Ventura County Christian High School. The evening began with Principal Kathy Horan introducing our three seniors and having them run through a human tunnel made up of cheerleaders and teammates to meet up with their parents at center court. Each senior had a write up reflecting on their four years at Hillcrest.

Andy Hernandez was joined by his mother Maria. He shared his appreciation for Coach Dominquez for letting him play and supporting him throughout his high school career here at Hillcrest. Andy’s favorite scripture which Mrs. Horan read came from Psalm 77:4 – “You are God who performs miracles, You display Your power among the people.” Andy had an awesome two-pointer in the game and nearly had two three-pointers fall in the fourth quarter.

Michael Lubin met his parents Debbie and Barry at half court. Michael thanked Coach Dominquez for coaching the three best years of basketball in his life. His favorite Scripture Passage was Philippians 3:14 – “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Michael had 24 points in the game and truly has been the leader of this year’s basketball team!

George Ontiveros shared the floor with his parents Carolina and Jorge. George has been a strong part of the Hillcrest basketball program for all four years. A starter the entire season this year, George has added leadership and stability to a very young basketball team. George thanked both Coach Dominquez and Assistant Coach McCreary for being great male role models. His favorite scripture this year that helped him focus was II Timothy 2:1 – “You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”

These three seniors battled hard with the rest of the Saints, but came up short in losing to a strong Ventura County Christian High School team 68-41.

We thank these three seniors for there leadership, positive attitude, work ethic and for being a huge part of Hillcrest basketball this year!! We will miss Andy, George, and Michael. Thank you for being awesome Warriors from the Lord!!!!
