Posted Wednesday, March 7, 2007 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: International Day To make this a success, we need parent help! There are positions available for every interest and skill level. Don't be shy! Volunteer today. Our children are on their way to mastering the knowledge of their class’s country and will soon embark on the journey toward other unknown lands! Presentations are being made in their respective classes throughout the month of March, and chapels are focusing on various ministries around the world.
Finally, on March 23, starting at 11:00 AM, the children will travel through fourteen countries. After savoring the tastes of these nations, each child will travel “Hillcrest Air,” passport in hand, and be given opportunities to see sights, hear music, and appreciate the art of these lands. They will also be challenged through a treasure hunt of information, to be filled out and stamped on his/her passport. World “souvenirs” will be earned for the information accumulated.
After their fill of travel, students will make a final stop at the “Hillcrest World’s Fair,” where classes will present facts, songs, dances, art, flags and items from the many countries represented this year. This will happen in the auditorium starting at 1:00 PM.
To make this a success, we need parent’s help! “Positions” include chefs for the preparation of food (recipes provided!), sponsors to give money for the purchase of food, hostesses to serve food, and bus Persons to clean up. “Positions” are also open for airline attendants to direct the travelers, immigration officers to protect each country’s goods and stamp passports, and salesp to “sell” the souvenirs. Experience in the entertainment field is helpful but not necessary! The Salary: Wonderful memories and eternal rewards!
“Applications” are available for sign up near your child’s classroom, or may be “submitted” to marthagross@sbcglobal.net or dmacpherson@hillcrestcs.org.
Let’s give our children memories that last and impact them with the big world around them. Who knows … maybe a career in missions is in store for some of our children!! Join us in planting these seeds. |
