Middle School-Keeping in the Swing of Things

Our season is officially over, awards have been handed out, but when you love golf, it’s a year round sport! There will be many opportunities to continue playing golf with Hillcrest Golf Team members. A large number of players (both boys and girls) have signed up for the Westlake Golf Camp that is held over the summer during the months of June-August. Other options available are to enroll in a weeklong golf camp(s) held at Lindero, Los Robles, Sunset Hills and other area courses or country clubs.

The following awards were presented to the MS golfers at the end of season party this weekend.

MVP – Teddy Rettinger
Most Improved – Hannah Covany
Coach’s Award – Ty Metcalfe
Best Celebration- Cullen Madden
Future Pro Award- Sammy Rettinger
Perseverance Award- Shane O’Brien
hort Game Specialist- Alex Elizondo
Rookie Award- Michael Abraham

Next year we hope to offer a Co-Ed Elementary Golf Club at Hillcrest. We will help encourage kids to take the game of golf up and to grow a love for the game by taking them to the driving range and playing a few rounds at par 3 courses. The MS Golf Team would have opportunities to earn community service hours by acting as chaperones and mentors in each group and keeping score for the younger players. If you are interested in helping in any capacity next year, please contact Wendy Rettinger.   Let’s raise more great Christian golfers like Zach Johnson who thanked his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after he won the Masters Championship!
