Accredited, Challenging Academics

Yes, Hillcrest Christian School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)  and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). We are committed to the highest quality in our academic programs and we are also committed to individualizing our teaching techniques and curriculum to meet the needs of each student. Above all we are accountable to the Lord. The educational philosophy of Hillcrest Christian School is based on a God-centered view of life.  We partner with Christian families  to help students  develop their talents, abilities, and character to impact this world for the Lord.

We Keep You In The Loop

Our online school system management platform, RenWeb, gives you and your children access to up-to-date information about grades, test schedules, classroom events, transcripts and more.  Of course, there’s an APP for that. You can access your Renweb account via smart phones and tablets. In addition, Hillcrest Christian School  sends families a weekly email newsletter, a quarterly INDEPTH magazine, and our ParentLink program allows us to call all parents immediately. Of course, our web site is also up-to-date with information about latest HCS events, school announcements, sports scores, and more.

Partnering With Parents

We know it is the parent’s responsibility to bring up  their  children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4). We believe it is our calling  to partner with them in this important directive from the Lord. Parental involvement is an important key to success in school.  We encourage parents to be involved through our Parent Faculty Association, key school advisory committees, and required volunteer hours.  Our parents are also prayer warriors,  sports boosters, fund raisers, classroom helpers, field trip drivers, and most importantly proud evangelists for our school.

Competitive Athletics

Hillcrest Christian School offers a wide variety of sports teams in our elementary school, middle school, and high school. Our high school teams participate in The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). We also have competitive sports teams for our elementary and secondary students. From our successful competitive CIF sports teams for high school to  our skill development, all-play,  programs for middle school and elementary, we understand how important athletics can be to the development of the whole child.

Remaining the Same During a Season of Change

With every school year, there is always a certain amount of expectant change that occurs during the year. Children grow taller, some lose teeth, others learn to drive, games are won and lost and new academic lessons are taught. During this past school year, Hillcrest families experienced many of these changes along with some unexpected changes ranging from new curriculum in the lower elementary classrooms, Accelerated Reading program added for all students and the retirement of our beloved Kathy Horan. read more…
