Hillcrest Christian Preschool focuses on helping your child develop in all areas: physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual, in an environment full of genuine love and concern for each student. We realize how very important these years are to your child’s academic and social development. Our teachers provide a creative program that encourages each student’s curiosity and growing independence ages infant through transitional kindergarten.
Our students engage in the learning process through participation in hands-on projects, creative indoor and outdoor activities, and interactive play experiences. We are committed to helping every child reach their full potential. We believe that every child who enters our program is a unique and special gift from God, and that it is our privilege and responsibility to help him know that he/she is loved and cared for by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our new facility will feature spacious classrooms, a toddler swimming pool, multiple playgrounds, shaded trees, and a state of the art thermal screening.
Along with being state licensed, our program is one of the few in the Conejo Valley that is also accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International, ACSI. We look forward to partnering with children and families to provide an authentic Christian education!
-Katie Trimble, Preschool Director
We came to Hillcrest two years ago looking for a preschool and it turns out we found an extended family. Hillcrest has loved our children and has pointed them to Jesus in all circumstances. Our kids have grown academically, emotionally, and spiritually and we are beyond thankful!
Hillcrest Preschool Program
We are thrilled to offer an infant center opening Fall of 2020. Our infant program will provide every child with a loving and nurturing environment, social interaction, and foundational communication skills through infant sign language. Our teachers are trained in infant and toddler development and will encourage and assist the development of the whole child. The facility and the curriculum of the infant program are designed to address all developmental areas for infants: sensory, gross and fine motor skills, self-help skills, language, and social/emotional growth. Hillcrest Christian believes that the infant years are pivotal and we provide each child with a 1:4 teacher ratio for maximum attention.
Preschool program (Two Year Olds)
Our two year old preschool program provides older toddlers with a learning environment that fosters exploration of the world around them. Our teachers use age appropriate lessons and activities that encourage social interaction and emotional growth. The curriculum of this program promotes language development, pre-academic math skills, phonics readiness concepts, and Christian character education.
Preschool program (three Year Olds)
Our preschool program is provided to children who have turned 3 years old by September 1st. Our age-appropriate curriculum addresses the social and emotional needs of the child through dramatic play experiences, peer interactions, and Christian character modeling. The hands-on approach to learning provides every child with authentic learning experiences that will immerse them in the foundational skills of letter recognition, phonemic awareness, science foundations, and introductory math strategies.
Our pre-kindergarten program focuses on three core elements: social/emotional development, kindergarten readiness academics, and developing Christian character.. We believe that every child should be engrossed in multiple play and social interactions daily. The pre-kindergarten curriculum emphasizes pre-reading strategies, phonics development, and number sense strategies. Our classrooms provide authentic, hands-on, creative centers and learning experiences. Pre-kindergarten will provide your child with the essential academic foundation that they will need to be successful in transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, and beyond.
Transitional kindergarten is provided for children whose birthdays fall between September 2 and December 2. This program focuses on pre-kindergarten extension and kindergarten preparation. Students are exposed to learning opportunities that emphasize core academic concepts, social interaction, and Christian character. This program utilizes a modified kindergarten curriculum. The transitional kindergarten engages children in hands on learning experiences, pre-reading and reading strategies, phonics development, science exploration, and conceptual mathematics understandings. Students enrolled in the transitional kindergarten program are equipped with the academic skills necessary to be successful in kindergarten. Transitional kindergarten is designed to be a bridge between pre-kindergarten and kindergarten.

Hillcrest has been an absolute blessing in our family lives! I'm confident in knowing that my kids are being taken care of, kept safe, and taught well in the hands of the Hillcrest staff! Not only have they been the best resource for our little ones, but they’ve also been a great resource for us as parents. I feel that I can express my kids’ needs openly and they will be met every time. I’m always so happy to hear from my kids how much they love their school!
