Hillcrest Christian School Application Process
Welcome to the HCS Admissions information page. We are excited to explore your family’s educational opportunities with you. Your application process begins with a campus tour and a FREE Educational Success Consultation (ESC) with Head of School, Karen Winter.
The purpose of an ESC is to discuss how we can best partner with you in the education of our most precious resources, our children. During your consultation, Mrs. Winter will get to know your family, understand your goals for your children, answer questions, review school policies, and discuss the school’s role in partnering with Christian parents. Our entire professional staff is committed to both the educational and spiritual success of your children.
To schedule an ESC and a tour, you can contact our Admissions Director, Nancie Blumenthal directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (805) 497-7501, Ex 204. You can also use a convenient web form to schedule your consultation: SCHEDULE NOW
After your tour and Educational Success Consultation, you will have the opportunity to schedule a “shadow” day for your child in their grade level classroom. An HCS “Ambassador” from their grade will spend the morning with your child as he/she gets hands-on experience with our school.
Hillcrest exists as a ministry to Christian families. In order to apply, at least one parent must be a Christian who is committed to a local Christian church with a comparable statement of faith and attends regularly with his/her children.

HCS FINANCIAL POLICIES:
At Hillcrest School, we strongly believe that Christian education is not a commodity. It’s a ministry. It’s a commitment. It’s a connection – a connection between your child’s needs and your family philosophy and ours. That’s why at HCS, the first and most important consideration is what is best educationally and spiritually for your child. All other considerations are secondary.
As a ministry to Christian families, it is our desire that no family who is seeking a Christ-centered education be denied due to a lack of financial resources. Money IS important, and tuition is an investment in the life of your child. That’s why Hillcrest has one of the most robust needs-based financial aid programs in our area to assist families who qualify through our FACTS Tuition Management Program.
For current tuition rates or questions about FACTS, please contact Nancie Blumenthal at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (805) 497-7501, ext. 204.
Once you have completed your tour, ESC and submitted your application, you can set up your FACTS account to apply for financial aid, set up a payment plan and monitor your account.

Hillcrest Christian School Transfer Students
One of the most gut-wrenching decisions you may have to make as a parent is to move your child from one school to another during the course of a school year.
Whether across town, or across the country, this event can be life-changing for your child. At Hillcrest Christian School, we’re here to help make it a positive change for your family. All our teachers are ministry-minded. We provide carefully differentiated instruction with smaller class size. Students and teachers alike describe Hillcrest as caring, safe, peaceful, and nurturing. At Hillcrest Christian, new students are welcomed into our community in a variety of ways. Each new student is matched with an ambassador in their class to help them navigate their new environment. Students are encouraged to fully participate in activities such as sports, clubs, music, theatre and a variety of other activities to ease the transition. Teachers across grade levels strive to connect with their students and provide individualized education to ensure all students are successful.
Hillcrest Christian school accepts transfer students at all grade levels at any point during the school year. We work with each family to identify the transition timing and classroom environment that is best for the student.
