Tuesday, Sept 27, our elementary and middle school girls’ volleyball teams had their first league game over at Newbury Park Adventist Academy. Both volleyball teams battled hard but both came up short and lost their games two sets to 0 (17-25,15-25). Although they lost, I think everyone in that gym (both teams and referee) noticed how our teams are being taught this sport. Our elementary girls had 5 “bump, set, hit” sequences which is very difficult! Coach Monica is doing a wonderful job actually teaching these young girls how to play the game how its meant to be played. Not just hit the ball over on the first hit.
Our middle school girls volleyball team showed great control of the ball. Even though they lost both sets (12-25, 14-25), they too had many “bump, set, hit” sequences that proved these girls will have what it takes in the long run. Its the beginning of the season for the girls and if they stay on the path of listening to their coaches and learning the sport how its meant to be played, they will be successful. Our high school is in good hands if these girls continue to work hard.
If you see the girls please give them a high five! They deserve it!
Thanks for your support! GO SAINTS!!
