Elementary Chapel, Week of January 5th, 2026

Good Afternoon Saints,

For tomorrow’s chapel, we will be learning about one of the most intimate names of God: the Aramaic word “Abba.”

“Abba” means “Dear Father”—a word that beautifully combines intimacy and honor. It communicates that we can relate to God not as a distant, far-away ruler, but as a loving and affectionate Father. Because God is our Abba, He is never far away. He is always near—within arm’s reach—because we are His children, and He is always accessible to us.

When we go through difficult times, Abba is near us. When we are confused or discouraged, Abba is with us. When we don’t know what to do and we feel all alone, Abba is with us.

“Abba” is a term of reverential endearment—it speaks of a Father who is both loving and holy, who knows everything about us and yet loves us anyway.

Our main text will be Mark 14:36, where we see Jesus Himself cry out, “Abba, Father,” and we will also look at a couple of passages from Paul’s letters that show us that, through Jesus, we are invited into this same relationship with God.

May the Lord bless our time together tomorrow.

With the Love of Christ,

“I am loved”
(John 3:16, 1 John 4:19)

“I am chosen”
(Ephesians 1:4, John 15:16)

“I am forgiven”
(Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14)

“I am created on purpose for a purpose”
( Psalm 139:13-18, Jeremiah 29:11, Revelation 4:11)

“I am accepted”
(Romans 5:1-2, Colossians 1:21-22)

“I am created in the image of God”
(Genesis 1:27)

“I am a child of God”
(John 1:12, 1 John 3:2)

Elementary Chapel Week of December 15, 2025

Good Afternoon Saints,

For tomorrow’s chapel we will be covering the story and reality of Christ-mas. We know Jesus is the “reason for the season”. Nonetheless, we can tend to forget that behind all the traditions, events, gifts, decorations and of course the food (lol). Using our Christmas m&m’s we will cover four important facts about Jesus' birth. If you turn the M three other ways it makes the number 3, the letter W and the letter E.

M= Mankind’s representative ( Romans 5:12-20 and 2 Corinthians 5:21)

3= Wise men brought 3 unique gifts that all point to who Jesus is (King, Priest and Deity) Matthew 2:11

W= Worship is the proper response to Jesus birth (Luke 2:8-20)

E= Jesus came for EVERYONE (John 3:16). We are all in need of a Savior.

Looking forward to our time together in the Lord as we celebrate the birth of “hope”, enjoy our abundant life in Jesus and the expectant joys of Heaven!

With the Love of Christ,

“I have no greater joy than to hear my children walk in Truth” 3 John 1:4

“I am loved”
(John 3:16, 1 John 4:19)

“I am chosen”
(Ephesians 1:4, John 15:16)

“I am forgiven”
(Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14)

“I am created on purpose for a purpose”
( Psalm 139:13-18, Jeremiah 29:11, Revelation 4:11)

“I am accepted”
(Romans 5:1-2, Colossians 1:21-22)

“I am created in the image of God”
(Genesis 1:27)

“I am a child of God”
(John 1:12, 1 John 3:2)

Good Morning Saints,

Today’s chapel we will be discussing God’s wonderful gift of “gender”. That God gifted each of us immutably as a male or female. This is God’s gift to us as equal but diverse image bearers of himself. God is the one who chooses and even puts a code within our blood (XY or XX). God is glorified most when boys and girls work together using their unique giftings and talents. This is something we should celebrate and praise as it shows the Glory of God within each of us, unique and special in the sight of God. I will be reading a very good age-appropriate children’s book called, “Helping Children Understand the Gift of Gender”, by Marty Machowski.
Our main text will be from Genesis 1:27. I am looking forward to our time together in the Lord.

With the Love of Christ,
Joshua Camper

Good Morning Saints,

Today’s  chapel we will be discussing a very difficult aspect of God’s character. It is the characteristic of God’s “Wrath”. The Greek word is  “orge” (or-Gay ὀργή) from romans 1:18. It simply means a rising up of passion, anger and vengeance. In simple terms it is the holy, righteous and expected response from God to sin or anything that hurts and harms that which He loves. This means that God’s wrath flows from His infinite love for people. If God does not judge sin then He truly does not love people. If a parent doesn't have rules to keep their children from playing in the streets then they are not a loving parent.
These two aspects of “Love and Justice” go together. Our main text will be from Genesis 6 when God expresses his broken heart over the wickedness of mankind. Thank you King Jesus for taking upon God's Wrath so we can be reconciled back to God. As we continue to embrace the whole character of God may we adore Him, love Him and live for Him. Praying for our time together this morning!

Today's chapel we will be discussing one of the many names of God. It is the name Jehovah El Roi which is interpreted as “The God who sees me.”(אֵל רֳאִי.). This does not just speak of God simply having a visual on us but that he actually cares about us deeply and desires to be intimately involved in our lives. He sees us in all of our circumstances and then responds to us. Our main text will be from Genesis 16 where we first see this name of God used. We will also be referencing the Exodus story as another example of God “seeing” His people and then actively and intimately getting involved.

Praying for our time together in the Lord!

This week's chapel we will be discussing the attribute of God’s “loving-kindness” or “loyal love”. It is the Hebrew word “hessed” (חֶסֶד). This is one of four Hebrew words to describe the love of God. God’s love is so vast that it cannot be contained in one Hebrew word.  This Hebrew word conveys the idea of going beyond what duty requires and lavishing unexpected favors on others simply because you care for them. This is basically God’s love in action.
Our main text will be from the book of Jonah. We are going to do a “flyby” through the entire book looking at God’s “hesed” (חֶסֶד). We will see God's relentless pursuit of Jonah in all four chapters. God pursues Jonah with the wind and sea, pagan sailors, a great fish, the ninevites and lastly a plant. We will see that the Lord’s loyal love cannot be refuted in the text of scripture. I pray that this would leave us with a greater adoration and worship of our Lord. I am praying for our time together in the Lord.

Good Morning Elementary Team,

I am looking forward to another fantastic school year and a joyful time in chapel. For this first chapel we will be going over our school wide-theme verse, chapel theme, chapel theme verse and our “I am” statements. Our chapel theme verse, John 17:3 will be our main text of teaching. Our chapel theme this year is “Knowing and loving God”. This theme will be centered around the character of God as revealed in the scriptures. It has been said,” An unknown God can neither be served, worshiped or trusted.  The Lord can only truly be known in our souls as we yield ourselves and lives to him. Our prayer is that as our students would gain a deeper knowledge of the wonderful character of God and it would lead to an authentic adoration and worship of Him.
Thank you for your commitment and dedication to our students as you pour into them the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!

With the Love of Christ,
Joshua Camper
