Employment Overview

Hillcrest Christian School (HCS) is a non-profit, private co-educational, college preparatory school that spans services from two-year olds through high school. HCS is accredited by both the Association of Christian Schools International and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In operation since 1977, there are approximately 300 students making our student-to-teacher ratio one that is able to offer more focused attention for students as well as many opportunities for students to experience success, spiritual growth, and a caring environment. HCS intentionally strives to serve Christian families who are committed to a church body. Thousand Oaks is a suburb approximately 45 miles northwest of Los Angeles, California.

You will need the following information in order to complete the job application: Your work history, information on the church you attend (address/phone/email/Pastor’s name), your education and any credentials, two personal and three professional references, and a minimum of three letters of recommendations.

Once all of the application documents have been received, your application packet will go through an initial screening process. If selected, you will be contacted to set up an appointment for an interview.

We are currently seeking:

Secondary Math Teacher: The secondary math teacher teaches sections of math to students in 7th grade through high school and would be willing to help with extracurricular activities and support. There may be an opportunity for student government leadership.
The secondary math teacher should embrace current best practices and focus on student success and academic achievement.
The secondary math teacher will ensure that rigorous and relevant math education is a product of effective learning, which takes place when students, curriculum, instruction, technology, and assessment interrelate and reinforce each other.

Secondary Math/Science Teacher: The secondary math/science teacher teaches sections of math and science to students 7th grade through high school and would be willing to help with extracurricular activities and support.
HCS is seeking ideal candidates who have the ability to articulate a biblical worldview and consider themselves to be 21st century educators who embrace current best practices.

Preschool Director: Hillcrest Christian Preschool is looking for a Preschool Director who can successfully manage a school of approximately 60 children, ages 2 through 5, as well as a staff of ten. This person will be responsible for handling all aspects of a typical preschool, including staff, curriculum, school operations, enrollment, parent communication, etc. Applicant must be knowledgeable in child development and have experience creating a preschool program which incorporates the various areas of development. Further, this individual must be experienced in leading a team and supporting their growth and development within the organization. The goal is to find a candidate that is willing to grow the school.

Bookkeeper/Accountant: Hillcrest Christian School is currently seeking a bookkeeper/accountant to join our team. The position is year-round, 30 hours a week, paid hourly with the possibility of tuition discount. Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Reconcile bank and credit card statements each month.

• Perform all month-end closing activities to include closing of month.

• Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.

• Provide positive customer service.
