Employment Overview

HCS is a non-profit, private co-educational, college preparatory school that spans services from two-year olds through high school. HCS is accredited by both the Association of Christian Schools International and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In operation since 1977, there are approximately 300 students making our student-to-teacher ratio one that is able to offer more focused attention for students as well as many opportunities for students to experience success, spiritual growth, and a caring environment. HCS intentionally strives to serve Christian families who are committed to a church body. Thousand Oaks is a suburb approximately 45 miles northwest of Los Angeles, California.

The Teacher Application is for full-time and part-time teaching only. Please use the General Application for all other positions, including administration, faculty, substitute teaching, coaching, support staff, maintenance, etc. Once all of the application documents have been received, your application packet will go through an initial screening process. If selected, you will be contacted to set up an appointment for an interview.

We are currently seeking:

Preschool Director: Hillcrest Christian Preschool is looking for a Preschool Director who can successfully manage a school of approximately 50 children, ages 2 through 5, as well as a staff of twelve. This person will be responsible for handling all aspects of a typical preschool, including staff, curriculum, school operations, enrollment, parent communication, etc. Applicant must be knowledgeable in child development and have experience creating a preschool program which incorporates the various areas of development. Further, this individual must be experienced in leading a team and supporting their growth and development within the organization. The goal is to find a candidate that is willing to grow the school. Football Coach: Hillcrest Christian School, located in Thousand Oaks, is looking for a Head Football Coach. We are looking for a leader of young men who will have a commitment to continue to develop a winning program and pour Christ-like character into our student-athletes. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Athletics and will be responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and directing a successful high school football program. This position has full-time potential with teaching based on experience, and applicants must be committed Christians interested in teaching in a Christian environment. Competitive salary and benefits are available, commensurate with candidate background, based on the school’s salary scale. Bookkeeper/Accountant: Hillcrest Christian School is currently seeking a bookkeeper/accountant to join our team. The position is year-round, 30 hours a week, paid hourly with the possibility of tuition discount. Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Reconcile bank and credit card statements each month.

• Perform all month-end closing activities to include closing of month.

• Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.

• Provide positive customer service.
