Welcome! Hillcrest Christian School, located in beautiful Ventura County, Thousand Oaks, California, offers four distinct accredited programs: preschool, elementary school, middle school and high school. In addition we have an English Language Development program for foreign students, and our Hillcrest Academy  to support homeschooling families. Each of our schools is dedicated to serving the Christian community by providing high quality Christian education and training for the development of well-rounded students who will impact this world for the Lord Jesus Christ through Biblical thought and action.

Don’t hesitate to call and schedule an appointment to come and visit the school, (805) 497-7501. Our staff would be happy to schedule a tour and answer any questions you have about our Christian school.

Accredited & Accountable

Yes, Hillcrest Christian School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)  and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). We are committed to the highest quality in our academic programs and we are also committed to individualizing our teaching techniques and curriculum to meet the needs of each student. Above all we are accountable to the Lord. The educational philosophy of Hillcrest Christian School is based on a God-centered view of life.  We partner with Christian families  to help students  develop their talents, abilities, and character to impact this world for the Lord.

We Keep You In The Loop

Our online school system management platform, RenWeb, gives you and your children access to up-to-date information about grades, test schedules, classroom events, transcripts and more.  Of course, there’s an APP for that. You can access your Renweb account via smart phones and tablets. In addition, Hillcrest Christian School  sends families a weekly email newsletter, a quarterly INDEPTH magazine, and our ParentLink program allows us to call all parents immediately. Of course, our web site is also up-to-date with information about latest HCS events, school announcements, sports scores, and more.

We Love Our Parents

We know it is the parent’s responsibility to bring up  their  children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4). We believe it is our calling  to partner with them in this important directive from the Lord. Parental involvement is an important key to success in school.  We encourage parents to be involved through our Parent Faculty Association, key school advisory committees, and required volunteer hours.  Our parents are also prayer warriors,  sports boosters, fund raisers, classroom helpers, field trip drivers, and most importantly proud evangelists for our school.

Athletics? Absolutely!

Hillcrest Christian School offers a wide variety of sports teams in our elementary school, middle school, and high school. Our high school teams participate in The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). We also have competitive sports teams for our elementary and secondary students. From our successful competitive CIF sports teams for high school to  our skill development, all-play,  programs for middle school and elementary, we understand how important athletics can be to the development of the whole child.

Involved Parents = Productive Students

This month, parents of all grade levels will have the opportunity to meet with their children's teachers to learn how they are progressing. This special time is set aside each year to provide all parents and teachers a scheduled time to meet together. Please make this opportunity to discuss your children's progress a priority.

In addition, Thursday, October 27 is a half day for elementary and secondary students. Dismissal for elementary is at 12:30 PM and dismissal for secondary is at 12:15 PM. There is no daycare provided on Thursday, October 27 or Friday, October 28. Preschool will be on a normal full day schedule.

Preschool Conferences
Preschool Conferences will be held on Friday, October 28th. There is no school or daycare that day. This is a parents ONLY conference and each conference will go no longer than 20 minutes. If you need to bring your child to the parent teacher conference, we will have two teachers to provide care for your child while you meet with your child's teacher.

Elementary Conferences
Elementary students do not have school on Friday, October 28 because of parent conferences. Sign up outside your child’s classroom.

October 27 - 6:30 - 9:00 PM ... PLEASE READ ... Secondary Parent Conferences
Secondary parents have the opportunity to go online and reserve a ten minute slot to meet with their child's teachers. Rather than coming and waiting in line for your 10 minute window with various teachers, you will sign up online for a 10 minute reserved slot with the teachers of your choosing. This will streamline the process and maximize efficiency for busy parents.

You should have received an email with links for your child’s teachers to reserve your time. Slots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Parents who do not reserve time may still meet with teachers, but will have to wait for an open slot.

Secondary students do have school on Friday, but will begin with second period at 9:00 AM.
