School Board Members
The Board of Directors primarily sets the governing policies for Hillcrest Christian School. The Board of Directors supervises and evaluates the school’s chief executive officer, the Head of School. Other duties include defining and periodically reevaluating the school’s mission and major goals, strategic plan, and the budget and policy statements. In addition, the Board of Directors ensures that the organization obtains the resources necessary to meet the strategic plan.
Rich Person
Secretary of Board
Rich grew up in Washington state and graduated from George Fox University. From there he went on to earn his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from University of Nevada and a law degree from Southern Methodist University. Rich and his wife Kelly and their three daughters (Aliyah, Anjoli and Avonli) have lived in Thousand Oaks since 2001 and attend Calvary Community Church. Rich currently works as VP of Intellectual Property at Recursion Pharmaceuticals.

Mario Schweizer
Board Treasurer
Mario joined the board in July of 2018. Mario is married to Jenni, and has three children who have attended Hillcrest since 2014 when he and his family moved to Thousand Oaks. After a career in the Marines, he used the GI Bill to attend Pepperdine University. Since graduating with his MBA, Mario works for the Bank of America in Small Business sales. He and his family attend Anthem Thousand Oaks, where they enjoy leading one of the community groups. Mario’s spare time is centered around his family and working on DIY projects, as well as fitness and a bit of surfing.

John Spach
Vice Board Chair
John joined the board in April of 2020. John is married to Laura and has two children. His daughter, Catherine, attended HCS from 2nd grade to 5th grade and is currently a senior at California Baptist University. John's son, Cameron attended HCS most of his academic life and graduated in the HCS class of 2021. John spent 23 years of his career building an investment advisory firm focused on Fiduciary best practices and investment guidance for corporate retirement plans nationally. John sold the investment advisory business to a PE group in 2014 and started a national Commercial Kitchen Cleaning business in 2018 with a close friend.
John and Laura attend Calvary Chapel GodSpeak in Newbury Park. In his free time John enjoys road biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, golfing and backpacking. |
Tom Logan
Tom Logan joined the Board in 2018. Tom, a 2001 Hillcrest Alumni. His mom, Judy Logan was a teacher at Hillcrest for A MILLION years and his father, Steve Logan served on the board. He is married to Jenna Logan and has 3 boys, Andrew, Austin, and Alexander who have and are currently attending Hillcrest. He attends Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village. Tom owns and operates his own State Farm Insurance Agency in Camarillo. He enjoys spending time with his family and anything related to Basketball.

Josh Skow
Josh moved to California from Colorado in August 2020 and joined the board in October 2020. Josh has been married to Christi for 19 years and has three children who attend Hillcrest. Josh is passionate about the Church and Christian education. Josh and his family attend Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, and have always been actively involved in their local church prior to moving to California. After graduating from Kansas State University Josh held worked in positions for several international companies and has started and operated several companies in the service, real estate and food manufacturing industries. In addition to professional and philanthropic endeavors, Josh and his family love spending time outdoors.

Julie DimasJulie Dimas joined the Board in June of 2021. Julie is not new to HCS, for she has served a variety of staff roles throughout the years of 1999-2012, including a former administrator, teacher (4th & 6th grades), and middle school girls’ volleyball & basketball coach. Julie is married to David Dimas and has been a parent of two former HCS students who attended from 1994-2015. Julie has always been passionate about Christian Education. She currently runs a non-profit called Buyamba Uganda, which supports a Christian school program in Uganda for orphaned and needy students from nursery to university. Julie enjoys serving churches in the Conejo Valley as she partners with them in mission ministry ongoing.
