Hillcrest Christian School (HCS) is a non-profit, private co-educational, college preparatory school that spans services from infants through high school. HCS is accredited by both the Association of Christian Schools International and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In operation since 1977, there are approximately 300 students making our student-to-teacher ratio one that is able to offer more focused attention for students as well as many opportunities for students to experience academic excellence and success, spiritual growth, and a caring environment. HCS intentionally strives to serve Christian families who are committed to a church body. Thousand Oaks is a suburb approximately 45 miles northwest of Los Angeles, California.

Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a music curriculum that develops the children’s skills in singing, movement, rhythm, listening, and playing of instruments.
- Teach the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, tone, color, form, and style from a variety of different cultures and historical periods.
- Create elementary chapel and assembly schedule for the year. This is to include when elementary students help with worship as well as listing all of the special assemblies for the year.
- Run all elementary chapel tech and lead worship.
- Plan and implement performances for school wide events and special chapel days for the parent body.
- Maintain and update the inventory of student instruments.
- Set up stage, lights, and sound for graduations, promotions, and awards assemblies.
- Evaluate students’ progress within curriculum, both verbally and in writing.
- Plan and implement seasonal performances.
- Perform each essential duty to the satisfaction of the administration.
- Demonstrate personal integrity, friendliness, patience, fairness, openness, non-defensiveness, sensitivity, flexibility, and enthusiasm.
