Alicia Adams
Hi my name is Alicia Adams!

I am a first grade teacher here at Hillcrest. I have a B.A. in Early Childhood Studies from California State University Channel Islands. I am a certified Early Childhood teacher and have worked in the field of education, collectively for 14 years. I especially love to teach the early primary grades because it is so exciting to guide children in their journey of learning to read, write and how to become independent learners. I consider it a high privilege and joy to teach children about the ways of the Lord and the wonderful world He has created. I am a wife and mother of two grown sons and in my free time I like to enjoy the great outdoors by visiting national parks, hiking, camping, skiing and spending time with my family and friends.

Elementary Program

Hillcrest Christian School is the ideal environment for your child to achieve and exceed the numerous milestones that come with first grade. Our school is renowned for its exceptional academic standards, ensuring that your child's educational needs are met and surpassed. Our primary focus is on providing a comprehensive whole Language Arts program that establishes a strong foundation. Additionally, we are dedicated to ensuring a solid groundwork in Mathematics and Science by incorporating hands-on learning activities and assessments.

Most importantly, first grade is presented through a Christian worldview so that your child may begin to develop an understanding of the God of the Bible and learn that His desire is to have a meaningful, loving relationship with them through Jesus Christ. As we study the Bible, we will be learning about God’s character and what it means to walk with Him and live in fellowship with Him through the Holy Spirit.

Activities throughout the year include a visit from the K-9 Police, Grandparents day, Dr. Seuss Week, class parties celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s, 100th day of School, St. Patrick’s Day & Easter.

Field trips include: Trips to Underwood Farms Pumpkin Patch, The Moxi Exploration and Innovation Museum, Moorpark Teaching Zoo, Children’s Hunger Fund Poverty Encounter.

Weekly Chapels: Lead worship throughout the year.
