  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix

Educational Experience:
  • Opened and operated a preschool at Somis Community Preschool for seven years
  • Taught Transitional Kindergarten for over ten years
  • Taught 1st grade at HCS for three years
  • Taught transitional kindergarten at HCS for three years

All About Me:
  • Teaching is a gift I know God has given me for sure. I see it as my mission field and love seeing the growth spiritually, emotionally and academically in each child.  I am blessed by each family represented in my class.
  • I have 3 adult children. Jessika is married to Blake and just had a baby Waylon, making me a Mimi. I have twin sons Josh and Jon. I love spending time with my family and just being in God's creation.

Hillcrest Christian School is the ideal environment for your child to achieve and exceed the numerous milestones that come with first grade. Our primary focus is on providing a comprehensive whole Language Arts program that establishes a strong foundation. Additionally, we are dedicated to ensuring a solid groundwork in Mathematics and Science by incorporating hands-on learning activities and assessments.

Most importantly, first grade is presented through a Christian worldview so that your child may begin to develop an understanding of the God of the Bible and learn that His desire is to have a meaningful, loving relationship with them through Jesus Christ. As we study the Bible, we will be learning about God’s character and what it means to walk with Him and live in fellowship with Him through the Holy Spirit.

Activities throughout the year include a visit from the K-9 Police, Grandparents day, Dr. Seuss Week, class parties celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s, 100th day of School, St. Patrick’s Day & Easter.

Field trips include: Trips to Underwood Farms Pumpkin Patch, The Moxi Exploration and Innovation Museum, Moorpark Teaching Zoo, Children’s Hunger Fund Poverty Encounter.

Weekly Chapels: Lead worship throughout the year.
