Kindergarten Teacher
Education Background: My first major was in Physical Education. I was teaching P.E. and coaching high school volleyball, softball, and track and field. I later changed it to Social Science with a minor in Sociology; I received my Bachelor of Arts at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. I hold a Florida, Hawaii, Virginia, and California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Education Experience: I've been teaching for over twenty years. I started my teaching career with TK and kindergarten and then later taught middle school English and social studies. When asked which grade I prefer, I say I don't have a favorite because teaching is teaching and children are children; I LOVE THEM BOTH! But I am happy to be returning to my first love, kindergarten. I meet each child where they're at and then I challenge them to unlock their God given potential. I teach to the whole child because their social emotional well-being is just as important as their academic studies. Teaching the whole child also requires meeting their spiritual needs, so reading the Bible and learning about Jesus Christ is something we do every day. In my class we learn, laugh, and love! |
All About Me: I was born and raised in California, but I also lived and went to school in Brazil and Costa Rica. I've been traveling and living all over the world due to the nature of my husband's job. I've lived in Oregon, Guam, Florida, Hawaii, and Northern Virginia. I've been blessed to have had the opportunity to travel to over twenty-five countries! My husband's name is Tony and I have a son named Nicholas, a daughter named Jessica, and a mini Australian shepherd named Bailey. My favorite pastimes are hiking with my dog, going to the beach, going for long bike rides, and cooking.
