FAVORITE VERSE: Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all that He’s done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and mind as you live in Christ Jesus.
EDUCATION BACKGROUND: I received my BA in Social Studies with a minor in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University. I've held teaching credentials in California, Florida, Hawaii, and Virginia. I currently hold a valid teaching license in Hawaii (Prek -3rd, Kindergarten to 6th, and middle school social studies) and in California (multiple subjects). EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: I first worked as a P.E. teacher/high school coach at a private school in California. After the birth of my first child, I moved to Oregon for one year and raised my son, Nicholas. I then moved to the island of Guam where I taught kindergarten. After seven years of living in Guam and the birth of my daughter, Jessica, I moved to Florida where I also taught kindergarten. After teaching kindergarten for six years in Florida, I started teaching middle school social studies and English. I moved to Hawaii in 2013 and also taught middle school social studies and English. I moved to Virginia after four years of living in Hawaii and taught first and third grade in a school for gifted and talented students. I moved back to California in 2019 and taught middle school social studies and English at Ascension Lutheran School. In 2020 I was hired to teach kindergarten at Hillcrest Christian School. ALL ABOUT ME: Due to the nature of my husband’s job (hotels and resorts and then Operations Manager supporting the military), Tony and I, along with our children, have been blessed to have lived in various places. We also have been blessed to have traveled to over twenty-five countries. I'm a first generation American to Brazilian parents. I speak fluent Portuguese and Spanish. Prior to meeting my husband, I lived and studied in Brazil and Costa Rica. I love the outdoors! I spent years kayaking, bodyboarding, and biking, and now I enjoy hiking or walking the beach with my mini Australian shepherd, Bailey. I’ve been a follower of Christ since I was a little girl, and I’m still growing in faith every single day and learning about our Lord and Saviour. My passion for teaching has not diminished after all these years, and my desire to touch every child’s heart to love Jesus Christ our Lord and King will never waver. |
