Favorite verse: …Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? “Here I am. Send me.”
Education Background: I received my undergraduate bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University. I majored in Psychology, and I ended up with two minors, one in Biology and the other was Kinesiology. I went on to complete my Master's Degree at St. Mary’s University and was awarded an MA in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am in the process of completing a Master’s Degree in Education with a specialization in School Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Educational Experience: I was hired at HCS in 2013 as a K-12 Physical Education Teacher. I taught P.E. for three years here at Hillcrest and was asked to teach high school Anatomy and Physiology for one year along with the P.E. Classes. Over the next nine years, I have worked in the classroom teaching middle school and high school science and elective classes that include Psychology, Anatomy and Physiology, Life Science, Biology, Marine Biology, Earth Science, Criminal Justice, and Sports Medicine. This year, I had the opportunity to teach a college General Psychology Class for our Dual Enrollment College Program. All About Me: My husband and I have been married since 1995. God blessed us with four amazing children. I love being in the classroom teaching science from a biblical worldview. My favorite classes include Psychology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Criminal Justice. |

“By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so what is seen was not made out of things that are visible”.
- Hebrews 11:3 The Hillcrest Science Department provides a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum with engaging high-quality instruction that emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning with real world connections. Understanding science is a necessity in the world today. We challenge our students to be actively engaged in the learning process by asking questions, making observations, and connecting learning to their own lives so they can appreciate science and math, and persevere in an ever-changing world. With a wide variety of science courses including Anatomy and Physiology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, and Sports Medicine, students are offered a supportive and collaborative learning environment in order to cultivate an excitement and appreciation for science as a dynamic and fundamental discipline.
