Art Teacher
My name is Rob Duenas and I have been a K-12 art educator at Hillcrest Christian School for over 5 years. I am a multi-disciplinary artist and a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s Degree in History of Art. I discovered early on that I had a passion for art and strive to facilitate an environment that encourages students to discover their God-given talents. My goal is for students to impress themselves with what they can create as I mentor them to uncover their abilities. One of my big interests in addition to fine arts has always been skateboarding. My passion for the sport was reawakened because of how enthusiastic the students here were for the sport. I even helped arrange a club on campus. Getting to pass on things I love is so rewarding and there’s a lot of satisfaction in figuring out the best way to teach each of the kids a new skill. When I’m not painting or skateboarding I’m spending time with my spouse and two children. 1 Peter 4:10. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. |
