Favorite verse: “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
Education Background: I received my undergraduate degree from California Lutheran University with a BA in Liberal Studies. I went on to complete my Master's Degree in Secondary Education at Grand Canyon University. Educational Experience: I was hired at HCS in 2003 as a high school Spanish teacher, and I have enjoyed teaching and serving this school community ever since! The Lord called me into a leadership position and I was blessed to serve as the interim Head of School and as the Secondary Principal for the last few years as HCS transitioned to this beautiful new campus. I have now returned to the classroom, and I am currently teaching Spanish and Math on the secondary campus. It is such a blessing for me to do life with our students on a daily basis! All About Me: I am extremely passionate about training up our students to love God and to love others, and to walk intimately with Jesus as His authentic disciple. My husband Dave and I live in Thousand Oaks and we worship and serve at Atmosphere Church. I have three children who have all attended Hillcrest since they were in preschool. Alexa graduated in 2024 and is now pursuing a career in full-time ministry, Anthony will graduate in 2025 and will start working on his degree to become a physical therapist at GCU, and Allyson is currently in 9th grade and enjoys playing volleyball for HCS! In my free time, I enjoy reading and studying God’s Word, as well as hiking, biking, and gardening. |
