Good afternoon Saints, Tomorrow we will be learning about “God’s Design for Music.” Our question is not whether music is powerful—both our Bibles and our own life experience tell us that it is. The real question is: what is your music pointing you to, and what is it training you to love and live for? Music did not start on earth. It started in heaven. It wasn't created for entertainment-it was created for praise and worship (although it has many uses). The book of Psalms is filled with meaningful praise/ worship using all kinds of instruments and songs, all directing Israel to God as the center and training them to “make a joyful shout” to the Lord. The book of Job and revelation show us worship in Heaven as God designed using music. But Scripture also shows us the opposite—music being used to point entire nations to false gods and to bow down to them (as in Daniel 3). Music has a unique ability to shape our attention, emotions, memory, and sense of belonging. That means music is a powerful tool that can either aim our hearts and affections toward God or away from God. One writer said it this way: “Music is the only thing that will allow words to enter you without your permission.” Our main text will be Daniel chapter 3, with companion passages from 1 Samuel 16 and several from Psalms. I am praying for our time together in the Lord. Please see the suggested reflection questions below. With the love of Christ, Suggested Small Group Agenda 1-7-2026 “Be filled with the Holy Spirit, addressing one another in slams and hymns and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart…. Ephesians 5:18-19 What kind of thoughts, attitudes, or desires does the music I listen to usually produce in me? Does it move me closer to God, or does it make me more focused on myself, sin, or the world? If someone listened to my music playlist, what would they learn about what I love most? What does my music say about what I value, admire, or want to become? Is my music training my heart to worship God—or training my heart to worship something else?

Good Afternoon Saints, For tomorrow’s chapel, we will be learning about one of the most intimate names of God: the Aramaic word “Abba.” “Abba” means “Dear Father”—a word that beautifully combines intimacy and honor. It communicates that we can relate to God not as a distant, far-away ruler, but as a loving and affectionate Father. Because God is our Abba, He is never far away. He is always near—within arm’s reach—because we are His children, and He is always accessible to us. When we go through difficult times, Abba is near us. When we are confused or discouraged, Abba is with us. When we don’t know what to do and we feel all alone, Abba is with us. “Abba” is a term of reverential endearment—it speaks of a Father who is both loving and holy, who knows everything about us and yet loves us anyway. Our main text will be Mark 14:36, where we see Jesus Himself cry out, “Abba, Father,” and we will also look at a couple of passages from Paul’s letters that show us that, through Jesus, we are invited into this same relationship with God. May the Lord bless our time together tomorrow. With the Love of Christ, “I am loved” (John 3:16, 1 John 4:19) “I am chosen” (Ephesians 1:4, John 15:16) “I am forgiven” (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14) “I am created on purpose for a purpose” ( Psalm 139:13-18, Jeremiah 29:11, Revelation 4:11) “I am accepted” (Romans 5:1-2, Colossians 1:21-22) “I am created in the image of God” (Genesis 1:27) “I am a child of God” (John 1:12, 1 John 3:2) Good Afternoon Saints, For tomorrow’s chapel we will be covering the story and reality of Christ-mas. We know Jesus is the “reason for the season”. Nonetheless, we can tend to forget that behind all the traditions, events, gifts, decorations and of course the food (lol). Using our Christmas m&m’s we will cover four important facts about Jesus' birth. If you turn the M three other ways it makes the number 3, the letter W and the letter E. M= Mankind’s representative ( Romans 5:12-20 and 2 Corinthians 5:21) 3= Wise men brought 3 unique gifts that all point to who Jesus is (King, Priest and Deity) Matthew 2:11 W= Worship is the proper response to Jesus birth (Luke 2:8-20) E= Jesus came for EVERYONE (John 3:16). We are all in need of a Savior. Looking forward to our time together in the Lord as we celebrate the birth of “hope”, enjoy our abundant life in Jesus and the expectant joys of Heaven! These two aspects of “Love and Justice” go together. Our main text will be from Genesis 6 when God expresses his broken heart over the wickedness of mankind. Thank you King Jesus for taking upon God's Wrath so we can be reconciled back to God. As we continue to embrace the whole character of God may we adore Him, love Him and live for Him. Our main text will be from the book of Jonah. We are going to do a “flyby” through the entire book looking at God’s “hesed” (חֶסֶד). We will see God's relentless pursuit of Jonah in all four chapters. God pursues Jonah with the wind and sea, pagan sailors, a great fish, the ninevites and lastly a plant. We will see that the Lord’s loyal love cannot be refuted in the text of scripture. I pray that this would leave us with a greater adoration and worship of our Lord. I am praying for our time together in the Lord.
